Chairman’s Message
In this modern era, Computer Science has emerged as one of the most dynamic and rapidly evolving disciplines. Since its inception just over half a century ago, computing has become the defining technology of our age. It plays a vital role in modern society and serves as a key driver of innovation, scientific discovery, industrial development, and economic growth worldwide.
The Department of Computer Science at Abbottabad University of Science and Technology (AUST) was established in Fall 2010 with a vision to produce competent computing professionals equipped with modern knowledge and practical skills. The department currently offers BS Computer Science and BS Software Engineering programs designed to meet national and international academic standards.
Our graduates are successfully serving in prestigious organizations, including software houses, government departments, research organizations, atomic energy, space technology, and the IT industry. The department has a tradition of nurturing talented students through highly qualified faculty, well-equipped laboratories, project-based learning, research activities, and internship opportunities that prepare graduates to meet the evolving demands of industry and society.

The Department of Computer Science is committed to providing quality computing education through relevant curricula, qualified faculty, practical laboratory experience, project-based learning, research supervision, and fair assessment. It aims to develop analytical, programming, software engineering, communication, teamwork, ethical, and lifelong-learning capabilities.
The Department promotes research, innovation, entrepreneurship, and the application of computing to academic, industrial, governmental, and societal problems while strengthening collaboration with industry, alumni, professional bodies, and the wider community. It is dedicated to continuous quality improvement and compliance with national academic and accreditation standards.
