Abbottabad University of Science & Technology Celebrates Successful Completion of HEC-PSDP Project

Abbottabad, 28th October 2019 – Abbottabad University of Science & Technology (AUST) is delighted to announce a major milestone in its journey of educational excellence with the successful completion of the Higher Education Commission’s Public Sector Development Program (HEC-PSDP) project. This momentous accomplishment has transformed the University of Hazara Campus into a fully-fledged institution of higher learning, ushering in a new era for education in the Abbottabad region.

The HEC-PSDP project, initially approved during a CDWP meeting on July 14, 2017, and subsequently receiving administrative approval on July 25, 2017, has been a monumental undertaking. With a budget of Rs. 1090.337 million and an original duration of 36 months, this endeavor has been extended to ensure its completion, now scheduled for June 30, 2023 (with a prior extension to December 30, 2023).

Key Achievements of the HEC-PSDP Project:

The project’s most remarkable achievement is the creation of a sprawling complex, covering an expansive area of 220,818 square feet. This complex encompasses various facilities, including state-of-the-art offices, well-equipped classrooms, cutting-edge laboratories, spacious theater halls, an extensive library, a secure boundary wall, comfortable residencies, modern hostels, and an impressive auditorium, all of which are now ready for utilization.

Facilities Inaugurated by His Excellency the Governor/Chancellor:

His Excellency, the Governor and Chancellor, graciously inaugurated the Administration Block, with a total covered area of 21,747 square feet. The block includes the Ground Floor, comprising 12 well-appointed rooms/offices, a Senate Room, and restroom facilities. The First Floor offers an additional 12 rooms/offices and six restrooms, while the Second-Floor features 12 offices/rooms and another six restrooms. This state-of-the-art Administration Block promises to serve as the hub of administrative operations for the institution.
