A memorandum of understanding was signed between Department of Earth Sciences, Abbottabad University of Science and Technology and Hydrocarbon Development Institute of Pakistan (HDIP). Under the MoU, steps will be taken to increase cooperation, benefit from each other’s experiences in research activities, student exchange, joint efforts and provision of educational environment for graduate students on research and development projects of mutual interest, promotion of research and teaching activities. Conducting joint workshops, seminars and symposiums, educational tours for professionals for the purpose of cooperation in research projects and other activities will also be conducted.
The Memorandum of Understanding was signed on Thursday at Hydrocarbon Development Institute of Pakistan, Islamabad among Abbottabad University Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Tahir Irfan Khan and Director General HDIP Dr. Muhammad Saeed Khan Jadoon. On this occasion, Head Department of Earth Sciences Dr. Zahid Imran Bhatti, Mr. Faisal Shah and HDIP officers were also present.
Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Tahir Irfan Khan on this occasion termed the MoU between the two institutions as a positive development and expressed the hope that both institutions will benefit from each other’s experiences in future. Soon, new avenues of research and teaching activities will be opened for the students of the Department of Earth Sciences. He also appreciated the services of Dr. Zahid Imran Bhatti and Mr. Faisal Shah. Dr. Muhammad Saeed Jadoon thanked Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Tahir Irfan Khan and his team on their arrival at HDIP.
