Nasir`s research interests include highly sensitive and informative assays for analysis of highly challenging, degraded, damaged, and low-copy number DNA samples. (i.e. Pyrosequencing,Sanger Sequencing, and Massively Parallel Sequencing). Experience in the preparation of skeletal remains, isolating DNA from ancient human skeletal remains, and purification of extracts for characterization and populations admixture of ancient DNA and investigating their impact on modern populations.
