An awareness seminar on antibiotic resistance and safe use was organised by Young Pharmacy Community, AUST at Orish Hall. Dr. Khalid Mehmood, HOD Pharmacy AUST was the speaker. Mr. Iftikhar Hussain Registrar AUST, Dr. Mujaddad ur Rehman, Dean Faculty of Health and biomedical sciences, Mr. Abdul Aleem Awan Controller Exams, Mr. Ajmal Khan Director Admn, HODs, faculty members of various departments & students attended the seminar. The worthy speaker highlighted the importance of this serious health issue. A very interactive questions & answers session followed the seminar. It was emphasised that true potential of the Pharmacist be employed in healthcare setting throughout the country to effectively curb the menace of antibiotic resistance. Implementation of antibiotic stewardship and infection control programs in hospitals is the need of the time. The seminar ended with vote of thanks from the honourable Registrar after which the soviniours were presented to worthy speaker, guests of honour & organisers.
