Modeling and simulation play an ever increasing role in the development and optimization of materials. Computational materials science is relatively new and one of the fastest growing disciplines in materials science. The basic ideas behind computer simulations and the increasingly important role the simulations play in scientific research in general and in materials research in particular.
The focus of the workshop is building capacity of young professionals/ faculty/ scientists at the advanced stages of the emerging field of Materials modeling for the advanced needs of human race. It also aims to raise awareness about the alternative technologies to analytical calculations and experimentations.
The target of the workshop is a wide range of professionals including graduate students, scientists and faculty members who are at different stages of their carrier in materials modeling through the use of density functional theory (DFT).
