The 74th Independence Day was celebrated at the Abbottabad University with traditional fervor. In addition to flag hoisting, students performed songs and sketches during the colorful ceremony. The 74th Independence Day was celebrated with traditional fervor under the auspices of the Abbottabad University of S&T. Apart from the flag hoisting ceremony, special programs were organized on the occasion of Independence Day in which students of different departments performed tableaux, national anthems, and sketches along with the national anthem. Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Tahir Khan was the special guest of the occasion while Dean Malik Mujaddid Sahib, Director Admin Ajmal Jadoon Sahib, Director Student Affairs Ayub Jadoon Sahib, and various faculty heads, administrative staff and students participated in large numbers on the occasion. Addressing the function, Vice-Chancellor AUST Prof. Dr. Tahir I. Khan said that Pakistan was achieved after the immense sacrifices of our forefathers who sacrificed their precious lives for freedom. He urged the students to stand firm for the stability and defense of the country and remain united for the development and prosperity of the country as well as for the challenges of the future. He said that Pakistan has faced many challenges from the very beginning of its existence but as a result of 73 years of hard work and struggle, today Pakistan stands at an important place where improvement is being seen in various fields. Prof. Dr. Tahir I.Khan said that today reminds us of the extent to which we have succeeded in achieving the goals on the basis of which an independent Muslim state was established under the enthusiastic leadership of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and Allama Muhammad Iqbal. Was implemented. The Vice-Chancellor said that our youth have always faced all the difficulties and dangers facing the nation with courage and steadfastness. “Today, we reaffirm our commitment to remain steadfast and to embrace every challenge and make the golden principles of unity, faith and discipline a beacon for us,” he said.
