A seminar on Prophet’s honor in Semitic religions was organized by the Student Support Centre along with Mr. Saad Jaffar, Lecturer Islamic Studies – AUST (focal Person of the session), in which Dr. Umair Mahmood Siddiqui was invited as a key note speaker. Dr. Siddiqui is a well-known Islamic scholar of international repute who is a Professor of Islamic Studies at the University of Karachi. As an author, he has written numerous books and research articles on Islamic law and history. His last monographs are Hurmat-e-Takfir Muslim and Ibn al Arabi and his concept of Nubuwwah. He is famous among scholars for his intimate research on Ideology of Pakistan and his Ph.D. dissertation on Suicidal Attacks, its history, causes, Islamic status and comparative study of edicts issued on it. He also appears on various TV shows to give his expert opinion on different issues in the light of Quran and Sunnah.
