Abbottabad University of Science and Technology (AUST) hosted a three-day conference on nanotechnology under Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Tahir I. Khan’s supervision, which was attended by science and technology experts and students from across the country. The purpose of the conference was to research nanotechnology in Pakistan and its importance in various walks of life and industry. The special guest of the conference was Speaker Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly Mushtaq Ahmad Ghani. Speaker Mushtaq Ghani congratulated the convening of the conference on nanotechnology and the awareness and educational progress made among the students regarding the usefulness of this technology and expressed his heartfelt happiness over this progress. He said that he sincerely wished that there would be research work in this university and that these research papers would be presented in the top universities of the world. Our children have a lot of potential and Insha’Allah we will give them the opportunity to put their research into practice and benefit the country and the nation as a result of this research. He said that there is a Rs 341 million project for the university which will be started soon and besides his efforts the university has been selected for the C-Pack Consortium. Addressing the students and researchers of Nanotechnology in particular, he said that the Nanotechnology Conference should not be limited to speeches only but the knowledge gained from it should be put into practice for the development of the country and the nation.
